Three names from three eras sharing one small number
The last of the prophets of the Tanakh. Prophecy ends with his book; by tradition it ceases after him.
Dov Ber, 1704–1772, successor of the Baal Shem Tov. He rarely left his room, but nearly every Hasidic dynasty of the next century traces itself back to the students he sent out from it.
The name attached to the Iliad and the Odyssey. Almost nothing is known of the man himself — only the texts remain.
