Three names from three eras sharing one small number
Jacob's firstborn. He alone told his brothers 'shed no blood', and returned to the pit to find it empty.
Menachem Mendel Schneerson, 1902–1994. He trained as an engineer in Berlin and Paris, led Chabad from New York after the war and sent emissaries across the world, from Kathmandu to Cape Town.
A printer who became a scientist and a diplomat. He invented the lightning rod and refused to patent it.
