Three names from three eras sharing one small number
The king of Moab who hired a prophet to curse the people. Out of it came one of the best-known blessings in the Torah.
A second-century tanna. Tradition holds that he hid in a cave with his son for thirteen years from the Romans.
He taught the deaf to speak — both his mother and his wife were deaf. The telephone came out of that work on hearing.
