Three names from three eras sharing one small number
Moses' father-in-law, priest of Midian. He alone told Moses 'what you are doing is not good' — and proposed delegating judgment.
1740–1809. Known as the defender of Israel: in his prayers he argued with Heaven on his people's behalf rather than accusing them, and that voice entered the folk memory more firmly than any of his books.
By thirty his empire stretched from Greece to India. He died in Babylon before turning thirty-three.
