Three names from three eras sharing one small number
Mother of Gad and Asher. The Torah counts her sons as full tribes like all the rest.
1895–1986. He came from Belarus to New York and became the man the world wrote to with questions that had no precedent: artificial respiration, a lift on the Sabbath, an inheritance.
A poet who parachuted behind enemy lines to help Hungarian Jews. She was captured and executed at twenty-three.
