Three names from three eras sharing one small number
A judge told to cut his army from thirty-two thousand down to three hundred — so that the victory would not look like a matter of numbers.
When Jerusalem was besieged he left the city and asked Rome not for victory but for a school at Yavneh.
He published Leaves of Grass at his own expense and spent his life rewriting the same book, adding to it again and again.
