This is from the portion “Bamidbar” (Numbers 1–4). What it is about: The census in the desert: 603,550 men; the order of the camps around the Tabernacle; the Levites and their service.
Nobody picked it: the letters of today's date add up to 927, and that is page 219 of the 354 pages of the Torah — the first five books of the Bible.

Person of the day
Three names from three eras sharing one small number
Head of the family of Kohath. It was he who was told to carry the fallen out of the camp — work no one argues over.
A rabbi and doctor of philosophy who taught in New York. He wrote of the person who at once masters the world and seeks meaning in it.
A doctor and educator who wrote about the rights of the child long before they became law. He refused rescue and went with the children of his orphanage to the end.
