Three names from three eras sharing one small number
The first High Priest and Moses' elder brother. It is said of him: he loved peace and pursued peace, reconciling people.
Author of Mesillat Yesharim, a book on working on oneself built as a ladder of steps. He died at thirty-nine.
He survived Auschwitz and Buchenwald, kept silent for ten years, then wrote Night. Nobel Peace Prize, 1986.

Moses' elder brother and the first High Priest. His is the only date of death the Torah states outright: "in the fortieth year after the Israelites left Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first of the month." The Talmud remembers him as one who loved peace and pursued peace, loved people and drew them close to the Torah.
