Three names from three eras sharing one small number
The first matriarch. She laughed at the promise, and in old age bore the son whose name means 'he will laugh'.
1717–1787, a disciple of the Maggid of Mezeritch. His book Noam Elimelech set the pattern of the Hasidic tzaddik as a man answerable for his community in more than words.
He computed the orbit of Mars for eight years until he admitted it was not a circle but an ellipse. Giving up the beautiful shape gave the right law.
