Three names from three eras sharing one small number
Moses' father-in-law, priest of Midian. He alone told Moses 'what you are doing is not good' — and proposed delegating judgment.
1740–1809. Known as the defender of Israel: in his prayers he argued with Heaven on his people's behalf rather than accusing them, and that voice entered the folk memory more firmly than any of his books.
A lawyer who chose non-violence as a political method and walked three hundred and ninety kilometres to the sea for salt.
