This is from the portion “Behar” (Leviticus 25–26). What it is about: “On the mountain”: the sabbatical year and the jubilee; the land is not sold forever; redemption of land and servants; the ban on interest.
Nobody picked it: the letters of today's date add up to 920, and that is page 212 of the 354 pages of the Torah — the first five books of the Bible.
No word in the Torah carries today's number. Only a handful of such days a year.

Person of the day
Three names from three eras sharing one small number
Aaron's eldest son. He brought fire that had not been commanded — and the Torah reports that Aaron was silent.
Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, 1910–2012. He lived to a hundred and two, kept the same small flat in Jerusalem to the end, and for his last decades was the address to which the Lithuanian world brought its hardest questions.
The name attached to the Iliad and the Odyssey. Almost nothing is known of the man himself — only the texts remain.

For all three the main thing happened not alone: there was always a second — an ally, a rival, or someone they answered for.
