Chumash 354: Why the Name of the Book Equals the Lunar Year
The structure of 354 pages of 861 letters follows the edition Binyamin Pichkhadze, “Chumash 354” (חומש 354), Bnei Brak, 2002. The calculation was reproduced independently from the Westminster Leningrad Codex (CC BY 4.0); 31 of 31 control pages match the edition.

The system is mispar hechrachi, the absolute-value method, in which final letter forms count as their regular counterparts. No variant reading, no adjustment, no kolel. Straight addition.
Why 354 is the lunar year
The Jewish calendar fixes the synodic month at 29 days, 12 hours and 793 chalakim, where one hour contains 1080 chalakim and one chelek lasts 3⅓ seconds. That is 29.530594 days.
The modern astronomical value is 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 2.8 seconds. The two differ by less than half a second — and the talmudic figure was fixed long before telescopes.
Twelve such months give 354.367 days. In practice a common Jewish year takes one of three lengths:

354 is the central, "in order" value. The variation comes from two floating months, Cheshvan and Kislev, which take 29 or 30 days; the rest are fixed.
What this makes possible
If the name of the Pentateuch numerically equals the lunar year, then dividing the Pentateuch into 354 daily portions is not an arbitrary scheme imposed from outside. It is the book's own name mapped onto its own cycle. The justification closes on itself and needs no external assumption.
A second identity: 861
A related calculation concerns the Temple. בית המקדש (Beit HaMikdash) equals 861:

861 is also the 41st triangular number: 41 × 42 / 2 = 861, the full sum of the integers from 1 to 41. Its prime factorisation is 3 × 7 × 41.
What this does and does not prove
The arithmetic is exact and anyone can reproduce it. What the correspondence means is a separate question, and it is not settled by mathematics.
Nachmanides — himself a kabbalist — set the rule that gematria is admissible as asmakhta, a support for meaning already received through tradition, and not as a mechanism that produces meaning on its own. Kept within that limit, an identity like this is a memorable confirmation. Pushed past it, it becomes an unfounded claim.
