The letter of the month: what your birth month carries

In the Western tradition a month gets a zodiac sign. In the Jewish one a month has a letter — and that can be stated precisely.

Twelve months, twelve letters

In the Sefer Yetzirah each of the twelve months of the year is paired with one of the letters of the alphabet. This is not decoration: the letter sets the theme of the month — growth, speech, work, rest. Your birth month marks which letter you entered the year with.

The letter as a task, not a label

The letter of a month is not a verdict on temperament like "you're an Aries, so you're hot-headed." It is more a direction of work: the theme that sounds louder than others in your month. You can agree with it or argue, but it helps to know which note is central to your month.

How it joins your name

The letter of the month does not act alone but together with the number of the name. The name gives the base, the month gives the coloring. When they agree in theme, a person feels they live "in their own"; when they diverge, that too is worth knowing, because it explains inner tension. The full picture comes from the analysis, not from one letter.
